Beti Kamya Turwomwe, Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs will be keynote speaker at EAC Business and Investment Forum 2019 in Stockholm with the headline Green Cities in East Africa. Minister Turwomwe holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Makerere University in Uganda. Worked as Executive Director of Uganda Wild Education Centre before joining fulltime in politics 2004. She is the first women in Uganda to become President of a Political Party (Uganda Federal Alliance) and the first women in Uganda to contested the position as President of Uganda during the General Election of 2001.

The EAC Business & Investment Forum 2019  organized by the Swedish-East African Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the East African Embassies accredited to the Nordics will be held in Stockholm, Sweden from 2nd to 4th April 2019.

The Forum will convene under the theme Green Cities in East Africa, with focus on Waste to Energy, Water and sanitation and Green Transport.

Discussions will be on actual business and skill training. It will provide sustainable solutions for east Africa and emphasise on EAC demands, proposals and requirements.

The forum offers a platform to promote successful use and investments on technologies for green cities as well as products for sustainable growth towards high quality lives of citizens.

The EAC Business and Investment Forum is a key annual business event with an aim of promoting business flow, trade and investment between Sweden and East Africa.

The Forum will be attended by Government institutions, while the Uganda delegation comprising of Members of Parliament will be led by Hon. Betty Namisango Kamya and the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda Copenhagen Denmark is represented by Deputy Head of Mission Amb. Elly Kamahungye and Minister Counsellor Ms. Alex Hope Mukubwa.
