BRANDING AFRICA CONFERENCE MALMO, 30th -31st/05/ 2017
Industry frontiers AB in collaboration with Southern African Chambers of commerce and Malmo University organized a 2nd branding Africa Conference from 30th -31st May 2017 under the theme “Unlocking Potential of cities through Investment, Collaboration and growth” The conference was sponsored by sustainable Business Hub and the Swedish Institute The conference was addressed by the Mayor of Malmo city, and the Permanent Secretary of Energy and water Development of Zambia gave a key note address.
Ambassador Kibedi Zaake gave an outlook on the investment opportunities in Uganda with a focus on Energy sector, Clean tech, Health care, Agriculture and Higher Education. In his presentation, he outlined the role cities play on the global arena vis-viz the theme, highlighted the Uganda perspective towards enabling cities/towns to effectively actualize their role in attracting investments and facilitating collaboration and growth. He also gave an outlook of the major five years National investment opportunities in Uganda aimed at increasing growth and development of the economy, and concluded with a presentation on the specific investment opportunities in Uganda.
The Conference that brought together participants/ Companies interested in doing business in Africa shared ideas on which sectors are viable for investment.

Round table discussions on issues of increasing on the number of scholarships to Africa were discussed and agreed on by the participants. Also discussed was the issue of curriculum that prepares students for white collar jobs only instead of training them to be entrepreneurs and job creators and not job seekers as Governments cannot absorb them all.
