Uganda Embassy Copenhagen visit the Glocal Art Gallery

Art connects people everywhere; it helps us connect with one other. Art and Culture therefore is a very powerful tool that can help connect and engage citizens, communities and governments and plays a catalytic role in the development of sectors like Tourism.

It is on this basis that today the 14th April 2019 Amb. Nimisha J. Madhvani officiated at the opening of Uganda Art and Culture Exhibition in Thorup Drominglund in Denmark where Uganda Artists featured greatly.

In her statement, she was greatly pleased to acknowledge the extraordinary generosity of Mr. Hansen who created Glocal Art Gallery 6 years ago and called it Glocal because he wanted to have Africa and Danish art, and sometimes has only African Art. It was great to learn that this year he intends to have 3 Africa Exhibitions and only one local (Danish).

“Through your Art and Culture Exhibited at this Glocal Art Gallery you are number one promoter of Africa as a destination for Nordic Tourists. She applauded Mr.Hansen and Ugandan Citizens who are exhibiting today as real promoters of Uganda not only in Denmark but the whole Nordic region”. She concluded.

She pledged Uganda Embassy continued support of his work

Below are the photos showing the Art Glocal visit by Amb. Nimisha J. Madhvani and Amb.Elly Kamhungye Kafeero Deputy Head of Mission while interacting with exhibitors.
